Lesson Plan Project
EPSY 240 Technology Lesson Plan Assignment You will choose to work with a few of your colleagues on a lesson plan development project involving the use of multiple Learning Cluster technologies. Your content should be based on your personal interests. The lesson plan project requires you to become familiar with a particular technology (e.g., robotics, probeware, geographic information systems, video or text simulations, MIDI music workstations) and design a concrete lesson using the technology. This could be a "make & take" activity in the sense that you might find yourself implementing the lesson your design as you begin your student teaching experiences in your senior year.
The product will be a lesson plan with supporting informaion (e.g., student web page, instructor web page, example assessments) that address the criteria below. You will also make a brief in-class presentation about your lesson plan.
The lesson plan project utilizes technology that is uniquely in the schools, uniquely in UCEML, or duplicated here at UConn and in the schools. You should not be constrained in thinking about what IS in the schools now, as the challenge of this activity is both to construct something practical, but also to engage your thinking so you can become a change agent within the schools, promoting the development and adoption of technology-enhanced learning as you do your student teaching and Internship projects.
The Learning Clusters Lab (LCL) of the UCEML computer lab (119A Gentry) has a variety of educational technology workstations on which you can explore and develop lessons that utilize technology. Such as lesson would be an ideal addition to your portfolio, could be easily pressed to CD for you to take with you and could provide prospective employers a demonstration of the competence in integrating technology into curriculum.
Criteria:
We are still working on the specific criteria for the lesson plan.
